IngredientsEach tablet contains: Esomeprazole 20mg (as Magnesium Trihydrate).

Do not use this product if you are taking antacids containing aluminum or magnesium. If you are having surgery, it may cause a significant surgery pain that has not been adequately treated. Ask your doctor or pharmacist. There is a non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug Interaction Verify test, which is not available with this product. have or have had heart problems. These include angina, angina pectoris, rectal abruption, pulmonary veno-occlusive disease, right ventricular oedema, eosinophilia, fever, diarrhea, suspected bladder inflammatory disease, kidney disease, moderate renal or hepatic impairment, sickle-cell anemia, nephritis, nephritis with aplasmodal distribution, or a blood clot in your blood vessels that has lasted for more than 4 hours. If Nexium 24HRs is taken with blood thinners, you may feel your heart race with Nexium 24HRs. If you get chest pain, dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting when taking this medicine, call your doctor. For serious side effects such as severe allergic reactions you must immediately stop taking Nexium 24HRs and seek medical help.

BPH is a condition in which the prostate gland becomes distended and becomes enlarged. This can cause your body to produce too much of a PDE5 (phosphodiesterase 5) inhibitor, leading to dilation and enlargement of these enlarged prostate organs. Nexium 24HR works by preventing the re-growth of the prostate gland. This will help to relieve the distention and constipation caused by an enlarged prostate. Nexium 24HR relieves BPH symptoms by addressing the underlying cause of the enlarged prostate. It helps to prevent further prostatic hyperplasia. As a result, there is a reduced need to urinate more often and this reduces the discomfort caused by the BPH. With less discomfort, BPH symptoms are reduced.

Always take this medicine exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.

Drug Interactions: Taking this medicine with antacids reduces the incidence of drug interactions. It is recommended that you speak to your pharmacist before taking antacids while you are taking this medication. - Taking Nexium 24HR with iron, calcium, or magnesium supplements may increase the risk of allergic reactions. - Taking Nexium 24HR with aluminum and magnesium supplements may cause drowsiness and cause allergic reactions. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor if you have any other questions. They may wish to take this product with them as it may increase the risk of these reactions.
Medicines with potassium values that may increase the incidence of certain types of cancers may have interactions with this product. However, there is no proven direct evidence to suggest that Nexium 24HR is affected by these medicines. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor if you have any concerns or questions.
